In 2004, Nalini Karamchandani founded NGI Investment, a firm that specializes in property investment. Driven and motivated to create a successful company, Nalini Karamchandani had the goal of hiring talented and experienced real estate professionals to work at NGI Investment. Throughout the process of starting her own business, Nalini Karamchandani has learned how to successfully lead a team of professionals.

For Nalini Karamchandani, the first step in creating a successful team of professionals was seeking out talent. Prior to founding NGI Investment, Nalini Karamchandani was already well connected with real estate professionals in the Orlando area. Nalini Karamchandani was able to hire many talented real estate experts because of her networking experience.

Nalini Karamchandani was aware that talent alone would not make a successful team; she also needed to be able to skillfully lead her employees. Nalini Karamchandani believes that persuasive leadership begins by treating each team member with respect. According to Nalini Karamchandani, once the employees know that you respect them, they become more willing to work with you. Nalini Karamchandani believes that eye contact and tone of voice are the basis for showing respect and becoming an effective leader.

Another part of being a respected leader is ensuring that all team members are working towards a common goal. For Nalini Karamchandani’s team, the overarching goal is for NGI Investment to best serve their clients’ property needs. Once team members know that they are working towards a common goal, rather than being in competition with one another, they can begin to create unity. Nalini Karamchandani believes these few pointers can help anyone become a successful leader.
